In May 2018, as the originating shareholder and representative of Hong Kong shareholders, AMTD Group, supported by the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce (广东省工商业联合会) and the Guangdong General Chamber of Commerce (广东商业联合会), jointly established Greater Bay Area Investment Group (GBAIG) with RMB 40bn registered capital. Its shareholders are comprised of leading companies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao including Chimelong Group (长隆集团) etc. Mr. Calvin Choi, Chairman & President of AMTD Group, serves as Board member and Senior Vice President of GBAIG and Chairman & President of GBAIG (Overseas)

On June 23, 2018, Mr. Calvin Choi, Chairman and President of AMTD Group, shared his vision on the young people’s innovative opportunities in Greater Bay Area on Yabuli Youth Forum Innovation Annual Meeting hosted by AMTD Group and Yabuli China Entrepreneur Forum

On September 18-20, 2018, Mr. Calvin Choi, Chairman and President of AMTD Group attended the 12th World Economic Forum Summer Davos Annual Meeting and discussed the Chinese Bay Area economy with Mr. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the government of Hong Kong SAR
